Message I call it "The Flask".

Had some time yesterday afternoon to make a trip to my welder/fabricator's shop to pickup a few items and spent a few hours building some ideas.

The OEM overflow tank is terribly bulky and blocks a lot of the air exiting the driver's intercooler so I wanted to improve it a bit. Using some 3" aluminum tube stock, a plasma cutter, a some gazillion-ton shear and some 1/8" aluminum plate, I set the pieces into position as my welder did his magic.

And here is what the OEM overflow tank looks like:

If you ever get a chance to look at the overflow tank yourself, you will see on the back corner an indicator mark for "H" and "L", showing the fluid level. You can kindof make it out in the last picture shown above. I filled the reservoir up to the "H" level and then began pouring this into "The Flask" to make sure I had ample volume and found that I had plenty of volume left in the new tank - it was probably only 3/4 of the way full.

It still needs to have the neck pipe welded to the top for the OEM fill neck to insert into - this was all built from scrap materials and I couldn't find the proper diameter pipe to duplicate the OEM neck, but I will get my hands on some and have it final-welded.

I also began building a new power steering reservoir as well, but I'll wait to post pictures of that when it is all done and polished up. :)
